Winter Driving Tips

Driving in the snow can be tricky so we at Larry H. Miller Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram Provo decided to take the time to offer a few tips and tricks to help you stay safe on the road this winter season!

Whether you're driving in the city or going on a long distance trip for the holidays here are a few items to keep in your vehicle so you can be prepared for anything. 

• Ice scraper  
• Tire chains
• Shovel or ice pick 
• Water
• Flashlight
• Extra gloves, clothing or blankets
• An emergency food supply
• A charged cell phone
• Signal devices such as flares

It's also a good idea to put snow tires on your vehicle and to keep your tires properly inflated. We offer complimentary tire inspections here at Larry H. Miller Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram Provo. A few other things to keep in mind while behind the wheel are as follows: 

• Speed limits are for dry roads. Slow down when snow or ice is on the road. 
• Turn your lights on for safety. 
• Decrease your speed and leave yourself plenty of room to stop. You should allow at least three times more space than usual between you and the car in front of you.
• Brake gently to avoid skidding. If your wheels start to lock up, ease off the brake.
• Steer in the direction you want the front wheels to go. If your rear wheels are sliding left, steer left. If they're sliding right, steer right.

If you are looking for a fun, free, family-friendly holiday tradition, the 29th Annual Christmas Carole Sing-Along presented by the Larry H. Miller Family and Robert C. Bowden is a great one to add to the list! 

We at Larry H. Miller Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram Provo and the Larry H. Miller family are pleased to host this special event which features beautiful music and entertainment provided by conductor, Mr. Robert C. Bowden and the Generations of Sound orchestra. 

This year the Christmas Carole Sing-Along will be featuring, Kurt Bestor! Kurt Bestor is an Emmy-award-winning composer, who for over 30 years has composed an incredible variety of music in a myriad of styles and genres. We are excited to have him joining us for this year's performance! 

This immensely-popular concert was previously hosted at the Salt Lake Tabernacle on Temple Square from 1985 to 1998. With its move to EnergySolutionsArena in 1999, the Christmas Carole Sing-Along continues to provide us an opportunity to spend time with those we love while enjoying the sights and sounds of the holidays in downtown Salt Lake City.

It is truly amazing how the power of music makes the holiday season so much more meaningful. As thousands of people join together in song, it helps remind us of the brotherhood we all share.
